NSQG Pledges $150,000 to the International Quilt Study Center and Museum

Since the founding of the Nebraska State Quilt Guild in 1985, it has supported quilting in numerous ways. If you read the brief history of NSQG, you will see that many accomplishments have been made.

Now, a new pledge by NSQG has been made. At their annual meeting, held at QuiltNebraska '05, a unanimous vote to pledge $150,000 to the International Quilt Study Center and Museum, Lincoln, NE was made. With that donation, NSQG will have the honor of naming the resource room of the new IQSC building. It will also show our support to the IQSC.

Also at the convention, each quilt guild in Nebraska was CHALLENGED to donate $200 for five years (a total of $1,000) to NSQG, to be applied to the pledge amount of $150,000. If you accept this CHALLENGE, your quilt guild's donation must be sent to Marie Clark (see below).

You may personally make a donation as well. It may be made in the form of a Memorial, as you remember a special person in your life: perhaps a family member, teacher, neighbor, friend or another who has touched your life---or simply as a donation to this cause.

Seven categories are listed to record your donations:
Friend/ Under $50
Pearl/ $50
Silver/ $100
Ruby/ $200
Gold/ $300
Diamond/$500
Platinum/ $1,000

All donations will be recorded in the Memorial/ Contribution Book and will be applied and donated through NSQG for the $150,000 Pledge to the IQSC and Museum. The Quilt Guilds' "$200 per year for Five Years Challenge Donation" will be listed each year and a final listing will show the combined total amount donated.
The money for this pledge must be channeled through the NSQG Treasurer to be applied to the NSQG pledge. All donations from quilt guilds, donated memorials/ contributions and any future money makers will be combined and applied to this pledge. Checks should be made out to NSQG noted for the Quilt Study Fund and sent to Marie Clark.

NSQG Members Sandra K. Kosch, Chairman, Marie Clark, Treasurer, Anita Long, Terry Scigo, Katie Wilson, and Dee Augustin volunteered to serve on this pledge fund committee. They named the pledge the Quilt Study Fund.
