Pineapple Delight
2008 Raffle Quilt
Made by Bea Bauerle

The 2008 NSQG Raffle Quilt was made by Bea Bauerle of
Champion, Nebraska. Bea has made
several hundred quilts of different sizes and many designs. In her town, they call her the “Quilt
Lady” because she is known for her quilting expertise. She has taught many classes to new and
experienced quilters in her area and she has helped her three daughters and
four grand-daughters learn about quilting. She received the Golden Thread Award in 1994, has served as
her district representative, and this year, serves as president of NSQG.
The quilt is an off-white, whole cloth quilt, completely
hand quilted by Bea. The design is
called “Pineapple Delight”, with a pineapple medallion as the focal point and
lattice work coming out from the center design. To hand quilt Pineapple Delight, approximately 500 yards of
quilting thread was used or over 18,000 inches. It is estimated that the quilt
has over 180,000 hand quilted stitches. The quilt took over 730 hours to quilt.
The NSQG Raffle Quilt is available for
display throughout the year prior to the QNE 2008 in Chadron. The quilt can be requested for display
by a quilt store, local quilt guild, event organizer, etc. To request the NSQG Raffle Quilt,
